Installation of the memorial

The Antarctic Memorial has been installed in the crypt of St Paul's Cathedral on 12 April by the sculptor Fergus Wessel working with the Clerk of Works, Martin Fletcher and his team. It made an immediate impact with several people commenting on its simplicity. elegance and beauty. Fergus was clearly relieved that the installation had gone so well and complimented the professionalism of the works team at St Paul's.
The service of dedication will take place as part of 5.00pm Evensong on 10 May 2011.The service is public but if you would like to attend the dedication in the crypt you will need to apply for a ticket. There will be a reception afterwards in the Saddlers' Hall.
