St Paul's dedication date now fixed

Posted on

The date for the dedication of the Antarctic Memorial in St Paul's Cathedral  is Tuesday 10 May 2011.  The dedication will be part of the evensong starting at 5.00pm in the nave of the Cathedral.

We are hoping that many members of families, colleagues, supporters and friends will be attending the service. The service is open to the public but we understand that an area of the nave will be reserved for our supporters.

After the service there will be a short ceremony at the memorial in the crypt. Close family will be given priority in the area near the memorial but there will be an opportunity for all those attending Evensong to spend time viewing it.

We are planning a self-funding reception after the service in St Paul’s in the Saddlers' Hall, which is a couple of hundred yards from the Cathedral.

In addition, two days later, there will be a ceremony beside the Antarctic Monument at the Scott Polar Research Institute in Cambridge at 3.00pm on Thursday 12th May 2011.
