A painting of RRS John Biscoe at Signy that Mike Skidmore painted 20 years ago is to be auctioned to benefit the funds of the British Antarctic Monument Trust.  The painting belonged to Dr Humphrey Smith who died recently, and his executors have offered the painting to the Trust.  Mike Skidmore has been instrumental in this and has agreed to clean the painting and make small alterations in the light of more recent experiences.

You can see the result of his work here.
