Annual Meeting of Trustees 18 October 2019

The Trustees of the British Antarctic Monument Trust met in the Fellows Room of the Royal Geographical Society on 18 October. The maintenance of the Northern Antarctic Monument in Cambridge and the replacement of the Southern Monument in the Falkland Islands were the chief topics for decision. Plans were made for the Chairman to visit the Falkland Islands in October 2020 to oversee the erection of the newly cast Southern Monument and to gain agreement with the Falkland authorities on the future care of the Monument. The Trustees reiterated their thanks to the former Trustees Brian Dorsett-Bailey and Ken Gibson. Trustees welcomed the inclusion of the film South 2015: An Antarctic Voyage to Remember as a free-to-view video on Vimeo with a link from the BAMT website.
